Stellar is a payments network based on blockchain that allows its users to make global, affordable, and efficient payments in digital assets. The network is supported by its cryptocurrency Stellar Lumens, which uses the ticker symbol XLM. The cryptocurrency has reached the market cap of $15+ billion as of May 2021 and the circulating supply is 23 billion XLM, with 50 billion being the max supply of this cryptocurrency.
In this article, we’re going to (try to) predict what Stellar will be worth in 2030 — approximately, a decade from this moment. Please take into account that this is just a prediction based on several different sources. Therefore, if you want to invest your money in Stellar and hold it, make sure to do research on your own to decide whether XLM is worth it as a long-term investment.
Stellar Price Predictions from Different Sources
We examined several different sources and took their opinion into account. All of them have different price predictions for Stellar, and we’re going to present the most popular ones in this article.
CoinPriceForecast is a site predicting crypto prices. It claimed that Stellar started with $0.1291 at the beginning of 2021 and increased to $0.66 at the moment the article was written, which means there was a 416% year-to-date increase. Its forecast that Stellar will reach $1.17 by mid-2021 and $2.07 by mid-2022 makes sense. According to the same source, Stellar will reach the price of $4.03 by mid-2025 and ultimately increase to $5.83 by mid-2030. Therefore, it seems like a good investment opportunity as it can increase your investment more than tenfold.
TradingBests doesn’t go beyond 2024, which means it’s playing it safe with predictions. According to it, the average price that Stellar will reach by the end of 2022 is $1.003. In December 2023, the average price will decrease to $0.89 and increase to $1.03 by December 2024. It’s safe to say that there won’t be huge changes in the price, but that there will be a slight upwards trend that could increase more by 2023 if cryptocurrencies continue to be as popular as nowadays.
What Does the Past Say?
We presented the two rather different predictions on the future of Stellar. If you think it’s a good investment opportunity, you need to make an XLM to BTC exchange (provided you own BTC already and want to diversify your portfolio). Determining the future often means looking at the past price changes and deciding what’s the best thing to do based on provided data.
Stellar’s price has been tracked since 2014, but the coin broke resistance at $0.0038 in 2017, when there was the first uptick, recording a 19-fold growth. At that moment, it seemed that XLM reached an all-time high, but the cryptocurrency continued to grow, reaching the real all-time high on January 4: a single XLM was $0.9381. The price started to go down once again, but it never returned to its pre-2018 state, trading below $0.2 in 2019 and 2020. XLM’s price started going up again in 2021 and is still increasing at the moment of writing this article (May 2021). The 52-week low was $0.06, and the 52-week high was $0.79. Even though the cryptocurrency failed to reach its all-time high, there’s a good chance that it might do it anytime soon.
What Will Stellar Be Worth in 2022?
Making long-term price predictions (such as determining the worth of a cryptocurrency in 2030) is a brave move. Making a one-year prediction comes with a bit more certainty. According to the two sources we listed in this article, Stellar will continue to grow throughout 2021, as well as in 2022. It’s almost certain that there will be some price increase if we were to judge from the evidence. Still, there are many things that can impact XLM price negatively, including possible affairs, hacking scandals, negative speculation, and competition, especially from the side of new currencies that use better technology.
It’s All Just Speculation
Despite the best efforts to predict an accurate price of Stellar and all other cryptocurrencies, it’s safe to say that almost all predictions are speculative, especially if we look at the long-term predictions (such as the ones for ten or just five years). The crypto market is still very new, featuring some rules of its own that don’t apply to traditional markets. Moreover, all prices are volatile and go up and down almost every moment, meaning that there’s no certain way to tell what could happen in the future.
There are many factors influencing the price. They include the hype, overall demand, Stellar’s popularity, regulations of XLM (and other cryptocurrencies) in some countries, and more.
If you’re unsure whether to invest in Stellar long-term, research the cryptocurrency in detail. Stellar definitely has some potential, as it’s a popular cryptocurrency with many people already trading and holding it actively. Stellar offers fast payments at affordable fees and its network even supports several different currencies. Moreover, Stellar offers great security levels, making it even more appealing for investors. Still, it’s difficult to pin down the exact potential, especially if you’re aiming for a decade-long prediction — anything could happen in ten years.
