Holy hell, what a year 2013 has been. An emotional roller coaster, for sure, but overall, a year that brought with it a lot of personal growth and professional direction.

It was only in August that my first article was published anywhere other than a personal blog (or this site). Since then, I’ve had work published at Rolling Stone, Talking Points Memo, Salon, The Advocate, Huffington Post, Bustle, PolicyMic, xoJane, and Death+Taxes. My readership has shot up from just a handful of readers to tens of thousands.

I’ve been quoted in the Los Angeles Times, The Week, The Washington Post, Jezebel, BuzzFeed, an NPR affiliate in North Texas, the Daily Dot, PQ Monthly, and by Andrew Sullivan on The Dish.

In addition to all of this, just last week I had my first ever television appearance when I appeared as part of a panel on Al Jazeera America’s The Stream (will post a link when the video becomes available).

Thank you. Thank you so, so very much for reading my work in 2013. Here’s hoping I can continue to share thoughts, ideas, breaking news, and more in 2014.

There are those more knowledgeable than me, and there are those who are better writers, but the fact that you choose to read my work is just beyond me. Thank you so very much.
